The Beta Feedback Widget is a floating feedback button built into the Advally XenForo plugin for Advally WebOps publishers only. It allows trusted forum users (typically admins and moderators) to submit feedback about the plugin directly from the live forum, creating a ticket in the Advally WebOps support queue.

The widget only appears on sites enrolled in the Advally WebOps program. It is not shown on independently-managed forum installations.

Configuring Allowed User Groups

By default, the widget is visible to Administrators and Super Moderators. To change which groups can see it, navigate to Admin → Options → Advally Advertising → Plugin Configuration and update the Feedback Widget: Allowed User Groups setting.

Only users who are members of the selected groups will see the floating button. All other users see no widget at all.

Submitting Feedback

A small floating button appears in the bottom-right corner of every page for eligible users. Clicking it opens a form with four fields:

  • Title — A brief summary of the feedback (10–250 characters)
  • Description — Details, reproduction steps, or context (20–5,000 characters)
  • Severity — Low, Medium, High, or Critical
  • Page URL — Pre-filled with the current page’s URL; can be edited

On submission, Advally creates a support ticket in the WebOps backlog. The ticket includes the site domain, the submitting user’s username, the page URL, and the severity level. A confirmation message is shown in the widget on success.

Severity Guide

  • Critical — Site broken, major revenue impact, or a bug affecting all users immediately
  • High — Significant bug or degraded experience affecting many users
  • Medium — An issue that should be fixed but has a workaround
  • Low — Minor cosmetic issue, suggestion, or general feedback
